What counselling can provide
Receiving counselling while experiencing infertility can help you in many ways. The use of mindfulness, visualization, and breathing exercise in my sessions often decrease the negative impact that infertility and its treatment have on individuals and their body. It can provide you with tools in managing the stress, anxiety, or depression that result from infertility.
Infertility can put a lot of stress on relationships. It can be very helpful for you and your partner to get the support that your relationship needs in this difficult time. Partners can create a space for their decision making around alternative ways to form a family, including insemination, invitro fertilization, using an egg or sperm donor, surrogacy, or consideration of stopping fertility treatment.
I can relate to your infertility struggles. I know how hard it is to not being able to conceive when you deeply want to have a child. I am now blessed with two beautiful and healthy boys, but the journey to get here has not been an easy one. It's been painful, scary, long, expensive, and lonely along the way. I know the struggle first hand, as it took several years and required assisted reproductive technology to be here.
